I think that Mr Parbhoo is a fantastic surgeon and a caring man, who listens to the patient. Since having my operation in January 2016, I have seen Mr Parbhoo 3 times and each time he has been amazing. He is a fantastic surgeon and I'd like to thank him so much and without him my life would have been a misery.
My recent procedure undertaken by Mr Parbhoo was nothing short of perfect. His overall care was excellent.
He listened to my reasons for choosing local anaesthetic over general anaesthetic and was happy to facilitate my needs. The procedure went without a hitch, the aftercare instructions were thorough which ensured my speedy healing and recovery.
I could not be happier with the treatment and care I received from Mr Parbhoo. His colleagues evidently hold him in high esteem and I can see why.
As long as Mr Parbhoo continues as he is, the care he provides will continue to be excellent.
Mr Parbhoo looked after my husband when he was very ill in ITU. Leading up to that, he'd had a serious bleed out his ear at home following surgery 4 days previously (at a different hospital). Mr Parbhoo operated on him at 3.30 in the morning to relieve pressure on his airways because of swelling and a haematoma. On his second day in ITU, the bleed started again, more profound this time and he was in theatre within 15 minutes. Again Mr Parbhoo operated on him in that emergency to save his life. I fully believe the outcome would have been very different if he hadn't been in theatre that day. He was excellent in keeping me informed of my husband's progress, it wasn't always good news, but he had a lovely way of getting that information across, quite serious, but then the news wasn't great, he explained everything and answered our questions. Once my husband was on the mend and things were looking up, he wasn't quite so serious and the smiles appeared once we were all in a better place. Thank you so much for giving us all our lives back :-)
He greets with eye contact. He has the appearance of having time - which he probably doesn't! He explained in detail what happened in surgery - and in his answers to my questions. He has appropriate humour. All of which give me confidence. The only suggestion I would make is to have that detail in a hand out sheet, but perhaps it's very much individual advice to each person. It's all very clear as I hear it, but then I can forget a detail here and there - I like to adhere to what I am told to do in respect of my health!
Worried about an operation with Mr Alan Parbhoo, then do not !
I would be classed as a nervous patient, however prior to my operation Mr Parbhoo had time (no doubt on a very busy day) to discuss what exactly was going to happen and what to expect after the operation.
All went extremely well, so my few weeks of:
Worry...
Feeling depressed.....
Will I be okay....
were needless.
I appreciate that an operation, prior, during and after is performed by a team.
This team is obviously well trained, passionate about their work and understanding.
Many thanks to Mr Parbhoo and his team to a 'job' well done.
John Richards.
